What hardware resources are necessary for the websites?
All students at Duke are given webspace on the university servers, so this space was used for the individual webpage assignment. For the group projects, however, the individual space was not used because the instructors wanted to maintain control over the sites in order to guarantee security and preserve the sites. We wanted to ensure that all the sites were in one location, could be monitored and edited by computer support personnel and the instructors, and deadlines could be enforced. So, departmental server space was used for the web-sites and students in the class were issued special passwords.
