What happens with the results of the Jury?
On the afternoon of the final day, the jury issues its findings and recommendations in a public forum. An initial report is issued at this time. The recommendations appear in language that the jurors themselves develop and approve. Depending on the issue and the scope of the project, those in attendance on the last day range from sponsors and interested citizens to members of the press and public officials. A final project report is usually completed within three weeks of the hearings. The final report includes additional information about the project, as well as the jury’s recommendations. The recommendations remain in language that was approved by the jurors. The report is given to decision-makers and the public. Usually, the jury’s recommendations also are widely publicized in the media and made available on the Web.
