What happens while a student waits for an assessment?
If a student has been referred for a full assessment with the educational psychologist, they may access support with one of the University’s Dyslexia Tutors. This provision of support will last until the exact nature of the difficulties has been established via the diagnostic assessment: at this point, the DDS will be able to put the most appropriate support in place. Tutorial support with a Dyslexia Tutor is for students to work through any academic issues they are experiencing. This has previously involved such activities as guidance with researching, structuring and planning essays, referencing, support in writing and delivering presentations, and exam revision (although this list is not exhaustive). Please note: the Dyslexia Tutors do not automatically provide only a proofreading service.
