What happens where an employee does not meet expectations and is therefore not eligible to receive an increment?
Employees who fail to meet expectations at appraisal, will not receive any incremental increase and will be set objectives with reasonable deadlines and measurement criteria. Progress will be tracked and discussed and support and training offered where appropriate. Where improvements fail to take place within a reasonable period action up to and including dismissal is considered. Where employees fail to achieve an increment in October but demonstrate consistent and sustained improvement and are appraised as satisfactory at a follow up review held before end February, an increment is applied from 1 April. The probation policy will be followed for probationers who fail to meet expectations.
