WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE ARE NO BIDDERS AT THE COUNTY TAX DEED SALE?
If an individual or company started the tax deed application and there are no bids made, the property is considered to be sold to that certificate holder as stated in Florida Statute 197.542(1). If the property was forced to auction by Osceola County and there are no bids, Osceola County will have the first 90 days to purchase the property. If they choose not to purchase the property, it will then be placed on the List of Lands Available for Taxes and made available for the public to purchase. WHAT ARE LANDS AVAILABLE FOR TAXES? Osceola County holds tax certificates not sold to individuals. The County may apply for tax deed two years after April 1st of the year of issuance of the certificate.
