What happens when the palm fronds start to lean on the net?
As palm fronds die off, they release slowly from their grip on the tree. This then allows the weight of the frond to lower, until the dead weight is heavier than the grip. When a frond leans against the net, the net will act as a pivot point so the weight and wind action will force a quicker release from the tree.
