What happens when the children / students go on the wolf walk?

0

The walk is run by a senior wolf handler and only wolves of known temperament are used. All children are kept behind the wolves on the walk and are not only supervised by the teachers but a team of UKWCT staff and volunteers. Older students can meet the wolf in the normal meet and greet manner which involves approaching the wolf from the front. Meet and greets are only done if the wolves are calm and happy to be stroked. No children go near the head of the wolf and meet and greets are tightly controlled. The senior handler on the day will make the decision on who meets a wolf depending on the wolf’s and children’s behaviour. We do not guarantee a stroke but try our best to accommodate everyone’s needs, including the wolves.
