What happens when one “stays in the trip” of lsd for quite some time?
Most people come back, but it can take some time. You didn’t really give a description of his behavior. I know that for me the world can seem a bit strange for a week or two thereafter, but my personality is not affected. 2 weeks isn’t much time to recover from a bad trip though. It could be a couple months. It took my brother in law 2 years. He’s fine now. He’s actually really mentally strong because of it, and very bright and capable, but he was a bit off for a while. LSD can change you though. You say mental aspect. I’m assuming he has some new seemingly different perspective on the world. This is quite common. I’m not there to see it, but I guess I’d have to ask, are you sure he is actually worse in some way?
