What happens when moisture enters a system and can Permafrost help?
When moisture enters a system it typically reacts with the refrigerant and turns into acid. Acid is bad. Permafrost contains anti-humectants which if a small leak is present will serve to neutralize the moisture and prevent an acid reaction. Permafrost is not a cure-all though. If there is a big leak or maintenance is not performed it cannot prevent this type of acid reaction. Permafrost does not react with moisture so it will not react with or add to an acid situation.
