What happens when it snows or the weather is bad?
Superintendent Craig Douglas: I watch the weather on television just like everyone else. The local stations do a nice job explaining forecasts. If we do get foul weather, I check the roads before 5 AM. My goal is to announce any delay or postponement before 6 AM to give parents time to make arrangements. I used to think delaying school was a good way to go, but with so many parents having to work, I am not so sure that is true any more. Another argument against delaying school is that people are accustomed to traffic patterns during various parts of the day. Change the start time of school, and traffic gets changed, maybe for the worse. In our school it is not as big a factor as in a larger geographic area like St. Charles or Chesaning.
