What happens when I cross the border with my new Manitoba Enhanced Identification Card? Is the process different than it is today?
Yes. RFID scanners may be located at the stop sign as you approach the U.S. customs inspection booth. The card must be removed from its protective sleeve and should be held up to the RFID scanner (where installed) and be available for presentation to the U.S. Border officer. If there is no RFID scanner at the border you are crossing, the customs officer will manually scan your card to access your information.
