What happens when i break the sound barrier underwater?
Sound travels 4.3 times faster through water than through air so the sound barrier under water would be 3302.4 miles per hour. With water being so much denser than air it would put up tremendous resistance and that combined with the speed that you would need to travel to break the sound barrier underwater i believe that would be impossible. Man does not have the technology to build something that strong and with a propulsion system necessary for that speed through water. Very interesting question however!
