What happens when cleaning rooms with a pressure washer exuding a lot of steam?
Pressure washers using hot water or steam are supplied with cold water. The heating of the water takes place within the machine itself at a high flow rate. In these circumstances, multiplication is impossible so the Legionella bacteria cannot survive. The steam from pressure washers therefore does not contain Legionella. In steam pressure washers the steam is produced from water of such a high temperature that any Legionella bacteria will be killed. The steam mist can thus not contain Legionella. Cold-water pressure washers can, depending on frequency of use and the local temperatures, pose a risk.
