What happens when a youth is on parole?
The youth is assigned a parole agent who is required to monitor the youth’s progress and to help them become productive and law-abiding members of the community. Many parole offices provide youths with educational and employment opportunities, counseling, substance abuse treatment, parenting programs, and life skills training. If a youth commits a new crime, or if they violate their conditions of parole, their parole may be revoked. If parole is revoked, the youth will be returned to a facility setting for continued treatment and training.
