What happens when a variance request is tabled?

0

Whenever the SBOE makes a decision to deny a variance request, there is no opportunity for a reconsideration for the same variance. Therefore, the SBOE may choose to table your variance request and not make a decision. This provides you an extended opportunity to improve your variance request with additional or updated information or participate in additional remediation activities and retake the test(s) for which the variance is requested. If the SBOE denies my variance request, how do I appeal their decision? Georgia law allows you to appeal the decision of the SBOE through your local Superior Court. Complete information about the appeal process can be obtained by calling the Georgia Department of Education at (404) 656-2800 or toll-free at (800) 311-3627.
