What happens when a student is absent when the work is due?
If the absence is excused, then the school policy for making up work applies, and the student has the same number of days he or she missed plus one extra day to make up the work. For example, if a student missed Monday, his/her work would be due Thursday. Note: It is always an advantage to get the work done as soon as possible. If your child is on the mend, have him/her check the Web site for assignments and complete whatever he or she can. This will help tremendously when the student returns to class. If the absence is due to a suspension, truancy, trip, or other unexcused situation, then teacher discretion applies. Students must make every effort to be present for tests, WARP deadlines, and major project due dates. If illness occurs, arrangements will be made to make up work. Students must make time to see the teacher to set up these arrangements.
