What happens when a parachute opens?
when a parachute opends the air hits the top of the inside wich slows it down and gives it balance.this is called upthrust. Thats the force that acts in an opposite direction. If you were to screw up a piece of paper it would fall faster than an unscrewed up piece of paper.TRY IT!.anyway the point is the more the opposite acting force hits thetop the more slowly the parachute gows more slowly.
