What happens when a background check turns up something problematic?
After the screening process, if it becomes apparent because of a past offense that the volunteer would pose a threat to our young people, the volunteer would be prohibited from working with children and youth at our church. The pastoral staff would then work closely with the volunteer to find other appropriate ways to serve in the congregation. Again, confidentiality is to be strictly adhered to in this matter.
