What happens to Xs armor after each game?
Though Capcom has never given an official explanation for this, a comic in a Japanese sourcebook shows X putting back his armor, claiming that he knows too much power can cause problems. This is far from a complete explanation and arguably not even an official one, but it’s the closest to one that we have so far for the first few games. In MMX4, X’s armor was apparently destroyed, and Alia later built it to the best of her ability using known specs. She did the same with the Falcon Armor, but hasn’t rebuilt any armors since.
