What happens to unclaimed prizes after an instant game has ended?
A minimum of 30% of the Lottery’s unclaimed prize money is turned over to the State for the benefit of educational programs or State institutions, as per the legislation which established the State Lottery. However, the Lottery has traditionally far exceeded this 30% minimum, and given nearly all unclaimed prize dollars to support education and institutions. A very small percentage of unclaimed prize funds are reserved to support future prize promotions, such as our Green Ball Double Draw and Buy Two, Get One Free promotions.
