What happens to the wood and branches when a tree is felled or pruned?
Under ‘Duty of Care Regulations’, anyone instructing others to remove waste on their behalf have to ensure that it is disposed of properly. We are licensed to carry waste and the permits can be viewed if required. However, we are as’ green’ as we can be. Branches / brash go through a chipping machine on-site; most is then used by farmers for winter bedding for their animals. Some is supplied to Golf Courses to put on paths in winter and some is used as ‘mulch’ on borders and beds. The wood is used by those who produce logs for wood burning stoves – a fuel that is classed as ‘renewable’ because it does not take millions of years to form. Nothing goes to landfill – ever! Of course if you would like us to leave either wood or chippings on site for your own use; you only have to ask.
