What happens to the wicked when they are cast into hell?
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 If the wicked were indestructable and could not be consumed in hell, they are obviously immortal. To claim that we humans have immortality is not Biblical. The Bible clearly teaches that God is the only One Who has immortality (1 Timothy 6:16). It was against everything God stood for that a sinner should become immortal and thus keep sin in His pure universe forever. Sin was to have a permanent end. The main reason He made Adam and Eve leave the garden of Eden was so that, after they sinned, they wouldn’t be able to eat from the tree of Life.
