Your recyclables are transported to the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Portsmouth where they are sorted and sent for processing into new items. Your green top bin waste is taken to the new incinerator in Portsmouth, which generates electricity for the National Grid. Very little of Fareham’s household waste is now landfilled.
