Under SAFETEA-LU, the SSRS program ends on January 1, 2007. SSRS was authorized and imposed under federal law – 49 U.S.C. section 14504. SAFETEA-LU section 4305 repeals 49 U.S.C. section 14504 effective January 1, 2007, and with it the SSRS program.
