What happens to the sacks that are left behind after collection?
The refuse crews will leave a sticker on the sack telling the owner the sack will not be collected. We expect the owner to remove the sacks from the highway and make alternative arrangements to dispose of the sacks. If recycling sacks, then please remove the items that cannot be recycled (usually polystyrene, hard plastic {flower pots, toys], food waste and glass). Re-tie the sack and put out on your next scheduled collection. If sacks remain on the highway the owner will face enforcement action and a fine of £100.
