What happens to the MagKnife if it hits an object?

0

Our long-term tests have shown that loose objects (i.e. tees, coins, spikes, etc.) are allowed to pass through the cutting process (in most cases) with little or no damage to the bedknife or reel. The nature of magnetic fastening allows the bedknife to “give” slightly upon impact. This allows the bedknife to return to the cutting position instantly. When we have hit a fixed object (i.e. the bedknife catches the underside of an irrigation head lip), the magnetic fastening allows the bedknife to “travel,” creating an energy absorbing movement that minimizes damage to both the reel and bedknife.
