What happens to the equipment that is recycled through the SprintBuyback Program?
The equipment will be tested by a technician to assess the condition. Most of the phones can be reused. Sprint invests significant resources to clean, refurbish, update the software and repair the handsets. They are then thoroughly tested again before they are considered ready for other uses. If the equipment cannot be repaired, they can still be used for parts or they are recycled according to all Federal and State environmental regulations.
