What happens to the current tenants? Will they be moved out of the CBD?
There are presently four government tenants occupying the site. The Government intends to retain a presence of about 15,000 square metres on the redeveloped site, partly to provide the prospective developer with a long lessee, but also for the operational requirements of Ministers and Parliament House. The Preferred Developer design will accommodate current government tenants either on site or in the local CBD area during the construction phase with at least the current staffing numbers to occupy the Government office space on the completion of the new buildings.
