In the approved 2007 Downtown Action Plan, the City Council directed that bike lanes be removed from 2nd and Marquette and the space be allocated to the sidewalks. When MARQ2 is completed, the Nicollet Mall express buses will be moved to 2nd and Marquette, bicyclists will be permitted to use the Nicollet Mall 24-hours a day.
