What happens to story ideas sent in by readers?

My contracts stipulate that my stories are based on ideas wholly my own. Legally, I couldn’t and wouldn’t use ideas sent to me. That being the case, I have an assistant that goes through my emails and letters beforehand to make sure that I don’t inadvertently read other’s ideas. So if you send an idea in, I won’t even read it. Sorry!
