What happens to someone in the last stage of leukemia?

0

Hi, I’m not an oncologist or nurse but my mother just died of leukemia exactly one month ago. I was searching on line to understand what physically happens to a body when someone dies of leukemia and I came across your question. Of course everyone is different but I can share with you what happened to my mom. When she passed away it happened very fast. However, now looking back there were signs her body was giving out in the weeks before. Her limbs started to swell significantly because her kidneys weren’t functioning properly, her lungs weren’t working as well and had a hard time doing just about anything. Now that I think back to it, she just got tired and wasn’t herself. She was also very thirsty. But when it actually came down to the last couple of days we got her bloodwork back and it showed signs of damage to her organs from the chemotherapy. She had to be put on a breathing machine and only lasted on it for two days. My aunts said when she died her organs slowly started to shut
