What happens to siamese twins when one of them dies?

0

As pointed out by one answer, the “original” Siamese twins, Chang and Eng (who were actually Chinese who lived in Siam) died at different times, one several hours after the other. They probably could have been separated surgically, if the medical resources had been available at the time. They were not connected by a very wide link and may not have shared any vital organs. Whether the second twin will die or not now depends on whether they share important organs, and on how soon medical help can be obtained after one dies. Often they will have been separated at birth if this is possible at all.
