What happens to SDB Plan coverage if a participant becomes employed in the Public Service?

0

If a CF pensioner becomes employed in the Public Service (PS) their participation in the SDB Plan ceases with the CF, and the pensioner becomes a SDB Plan participant under the Public Service Superannuation Act (PSSA). Therefore, the participant should ensure that they complete a PSSA SDB beneficiary form, as the beneficiary form completed while in the CF SDB Plan will not be valid under the PSSA. When the CF pensioner’s employment ceases with the PS, and if they do not become eligible for a PS pension, the pensioner may again become a CF SDB Plan participant.
