What happens to public domain works?
• Public domain works are not covered by the Settlement, so our uses of those books will be covered by our digitization agreement with Google and will allow much broader usage, with no restrictions on general academic or scholarly use. • As in our current Google digitization agreement, we anticipate that there will be some limited restrictions on wholesale sharing with non-academic organizations, but we also anticipate that these restrictions will eventually lapse over time.
