As altitude increases, pressure decreases. Reason being, that the higher you go, the less dense air is. In other words, there’s less air the higher you go, and there’s not as much pressure upon you as there would be if you were standing on the ground. The more dense air is, the more molecules are present in that area of air. Those molecules have weight, and that weight is what causes pressure. So, in all reality, since there are less air molecules high up in the atmosphere, the pressure being exerted is decreased. Hope this helps.
