What happens to my seat if American Airlines has a schedule change or an equipment change?
You will be reaccommodated in a similar seat when possible. However, it may be necessary to change the type of seat and/or break up parties traveling together when similar seating is not possible. American accommodates the seating requirements of customers with certain types of disabilities. This could result in the occasional need to change another individual’s pre-assigned seat, with bulkhead seats being particularly subject to reassignment.
