What happens to my RefWorks account when I leave Cornell?

0

Bear in mind, much of the power of RefWorks is its connectivity to restricted databases. When you leave Cornell your access to restricted databases ends almost immediately. When you leave, you may purchase an individual subscription to RefWorks, but many universities around the world subscribe to RefWorks. Cornell will send a notification email to you before we end your access to RefWorks. In the email we will explain your options at length and provide detailed instructions about how to transfer your RefWorks citations to other programs. The export feature allows you to transfer RefWorks citations to many compatible programs: Excel, a simple text file, a new RefWorks account, or to EndNote or other citation manager that you purchase. We can discuss your particular needs and situation and make customized recommendations at our RefWorks Walk-in or over email citemanage-l@cornell.

Nothing except you will access RefWorks using the Remote Access mode with the Cornell Group Code, RWCorIndLabRS. Bear in mind, much of the power of RefWorks is its connectivity to restricted databases. When you leave Cornell your access to most restricted databases ends. Therefore, if you will be attending or working for another university, you will probably want to backup your Cornell RefWorks database and Restore it to a new account from the new institution.
