A – As with any annual enrollment, opting out means you have disenrolled and will no longer have medical coverage through Aetna in 2007. If you opt out of medical but maintain Aetna Medicare prescription drug coverage with Aetna, you will be eligible to rejoin an Aetna medical plan at a later time. In addition, for 2007 only, if you opt out of the medical plan due to the April 1 changes, we will allow you to re-enroll in a medical plan for 2008, whether you maintain prescription drug coverage or not. If you choose to opt out of the Aetna Medicare Open Plan (waive your medical coverage), you must contact Aetna Retiree ConnectionTM by April 1, 2007 by calling 1-800-AETNA-HR (1-800-238-6247) and following the prompts for retiree health coverage.
