What happens to brigades whose response area crosses municipal (and regional) boundaries?
The affected brigades will be consulted. Every Brigade will be aligned with one municipality, and therefore one Group and one District, for administrative, support, fire prevention, and operational leadership purposes. A number of parameters have been identified to help make a common sense decision in such cases. These include: • The proportions of the brigade response area within each municipality; • The location of the fire station and its distance from the boundary; • The predominant risk; • The municipality of residence and of interest of brigade members. Some of the key issues raised so far.
