The County currently contracts with Creative Recycling Systems (CRS), located in Tampa. CRS is a Florida DEP approved e-scrap recycler and it properly recycles our unwanted electronics into various components. Prior to shipping your e-scrap to CRS, the County evaluates and separates working computer monitors for reuse through The Dignity Project, which helps get working computers into needy homes. The County also performs some demanufacturing of computer towers to sort out components such as circuit boards, chips, and disc drives, which generate small revenue for the facility. The facility does not earn a proit for the County. All e-scrap is then shipped to CRS, a state-certiied business, for recycling.
