What happens to an animal when they enter the shelter?
• All of our cats and dogs receive a physical examination, spay or neuter surgery if not already done and a microchip. • Cats receive vaccinations, deworming, defleaing and are tested for leukemia. • Dogs receive vaccinations, deworming, defleaing and are tested for heartworm. • Animals that require dentistry, receive a teeth cleaning in our Hospital. • A professional trainer and behaviorist evaluates all of our dogs and places them into a training program prior to adoption. • In many cases, we provide long-term rehabilitation for sick or injured animals. Is the Humane Society a no kill facility? We are a life-oriented shelter that keeps animals that are non-aggressive and free of chronic health problems until they are adopted.
