What happens to a vehicle when the insurance company takes it?
I am just curious. I totaled our truck a couple of weeks ago. The engine stilled turned over and heater worked. But everything else was crushed like the passenger side roof and parts of the bed. What do they do with stuff like that if it still works and is accessible? A: They most likely sell it to a salvage yard. If you wish to, you can contact the insurance company and buy it back yourself. Or if you could work something out with the insurance company, they may give the truck to you. Them giving it to you is not likely, but sometimes you can deal with them. You could find the salvage yard and buy it from them, but will cost more doing it that way.
