What happens to a unsaved document i am working on if i accidently remove my key?

Nothing at all. Once the key is replaced, all documents or files which you are working on will be as you left them before you removed the key. This allows you to leave your pc as you are working without any work or files being disturbed intentionaly or unintentionaly.
