This concoction attracts the midge or mosquito towards the device and once near the source uses a simple vacuum to suck the midge into an enclosure on the unit. This compartment is heated and the midge is unable to escape, it slowly dehydrates and perishes. From here the compartment can simply be empty and the deceased midges disposed of. The fan that emits the attractant covers a wide area ensuring that any nearby midges fly towards the midge magnet as opposed to individuals in the garden. By only attracting the female midge it is twice as effective, removing the fear of being bitten but also preventing the midge’s reproduction!
