What happens post March 2008?
The DCSF statement at a recent conference; there is a public commitment to deliver the extended free entitlement to all children from 2010. Current pathfinders will continue post March 08, with an expectation to have 100% coverage across the local authority. There will be a second wave of Pathfinder authorities April 08-09. Subject to the Comprehensive Spending Review outcome, the DCSF Presumption, is that the level of provision reached by the end of the year will be maintained, i.e. the 15 hours free entitlement funding will continue.
