What happens once a nominated project is selected to be part of Transportation Outlook 2040?
Transportation Outlook 2040 identifies regionally significant transportation projects that support the plan’s policy goals. However, the broad policy framework of the long-range transportation plan is implemented through the shorter term Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP documents all federal transportation investments in the region and identifies individual transportation improvements and projects to be implemented within the next three to five years. All federally funded transportation investments must be part of the TIP.
