What happens on any given Saturday?
You will meet with your color group for your scheduled run. Groups will start at different times (posted on the website or included in weekly newsletters) so that all groups are back at approximately the same time. Once all groups are back, the seminar will be presented. After the seminar, coaches are available for questions and discussions.
You will find the starting location, starting time and distance for each Saturday workout on the Schedule page of the website. We meet our color groups at the park, warm up and stretch a bit and then run or walk with our groups. After the run or walk, we’ll usually have a short meeting with our color group for a few minutes to talk with the coaches, ask questions, make plans for the next week, etc. Then, on most weeks we’ll have a short seminar to cover an important topic such as Hydration, Safety, Nutrition, etc. After that, some members will usually stick around for a few minutes to ask questions of the coaches, talk with their friends, and generally socialize. And a group of hardcore Katy Fitizens will often retire to the nearest Starbucks for more camaraderie.
We meet at the specified time which will be available on-line and on our printed season schedules. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign-in. We will hold a 15-20 min seminar with a different topic / speaker each week. These too will be listed on our schedule. After the seminar, we break into our color groups, get a few updates from our color group coach and do some light stretches. We then run the prescribed mileage for that day.
