What Happens in the Writing Center at the CWS?
Our tutors will assist you in writing essays and other papers for your classes. If you are working on a paper, you should bring your draft and a copy of the writing assignment to your tutoring session. The tutors are not “proof readers,” nor do they guarantee that your grades will improve merely by engaging in a tutoring session. They are, however, trained to assist you in spotting your own errors in your papers and guiding you to write clearly, coherently, and correctly. If you have not begun your writing assignment, our tutors will help you to brainstorm and create a plan for fulfilling the assignment.
