What happens in the Freshman Seminar?
On the weeks when the three sections meet together, there will be speakers. By the end of the two semesters, we will have had at least one speaker from each of the departments of the College of Natural Sciences. Generally these presentation are reviews of research by the speaker. The official length of the class is 1 1/4 hours but many of our speakers only plan 45 minutes of material in expectation that there will be at least a half hour of questions. This is no time for students to become shy.
