What happens in SYL ODP after the players are evaluated during the regular season?
Vermes: At the end of the regular season, the Regional ODP Staff Coach and the Regional Age Scouts in each of the 10 SYL regions will select a team of 16 players, two goalkeepers and 14 field players. This selection will be based on the evaluations made by the Regional Staff Coach, Regional Age Scout and the Club Scout. In special cases players that were missed in the voting system will be recommended by the Club Scouts to the Regional Age Scouts and Regional Staff Coaches for selection to the Regional Pool Team. The Regional Pool Team selected to participate in the Regional ID Weekend then will go to one of four Regional Identification Weekends. U.S. National Staff Coaches and SYL Scouting Network will evaluate players for SYL Regional ODP Teams, where they will be given careful evaluation based on their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological abilities.
